    Start the program and choose “I am a new customer”. Enter your details once, and we e-mail you an activation code.

    Enter the code: your welcome credit is ready straight away. That’s about 8 hours of 2D or 6½ hours of XFEM4U.

4IT notes

Notes for IT. Signed, and easy to allow.

For offices where IT installs the software, or a firewall stands in between.

4.1Signed installers

All four installers are signed by Struct4U B.V. with a DigiCert code-signing certificate. To check: right-click the .msi, choose Properties, then Digital Signatures.

4.2XSpreadsheets macros

The XSpreadsheets workbook isn’t signed, so Excel may block its macros. Right-click the .xlsm file, choose Properties, tick Unblock and choose OK. Then open it and choose Enable Content.

4.3Windows SmartScreen

SmartScreen can warn about a download it hasn’t seen often. Check that the publisher is Struct4U B.V., then choose More info and Run anyway.

4.4Firewall and downloads

The download buttons on this site fetch the installers from software.struct4u.win over HTTPS; the installed programs fetch their updates from software.struct4u.com. The programs sign in and check the licence with api.struct4u.win and struct4u.baaijse.nl. A company firewall must allow all four hosts.

4.5VPN

If the program can’t connect while a VPN is on, try again without the VPN, or send the message to support.

4.6Smart App Control

On Windows 11 with Smart App Control on, Windows may block the installer or a part of it. Contact support and we’ll help.

4.7Updates

The program tells you when a new version is available. The links on this page always download the latest one.

Questions before you install.

5.1Is the download really free?
Yes. Downloading and installing costs nothing, and no card is needed. The first hour is free without registering. When you register in the program, you get €100 of credit as a welcome gift.
5.2Which programs does the credit work in?
All of them. The programs share one credit balance.
5.3How long does €100 last?
About 8 hours in the 2D programs or 6½ hours in XFEM4U. You pay per minute, and an idle hour is never charged.
5.4What happens when my credit runs low?
The program tells you when your balance runs low. Top up from €350, in the program or online, or buy a licence. Your credit never expires.
5.5Can I move to another computer?
Yes. Your credit belongs to your account, not to one computer: install the program on the other computer and log in with the same account. Colleagues can use the same balance at the same time.
5.6Does it run on a Mac?
No. The programs run on Windows.
5.7Can I download an older version?
No. The downloads always give the latest version of each program.
5.8Do I need every program?
No. Install only the ones you need; your credit works in each of them.
5.9I’m a student. Is there a student licence?
Yes: free for a year, with the e-mail address of your university or college.
