Design codes
Design codes and national annexes
Which codes each program checks against, and for which countries. A ✓ means a manual, a sample report or the release notes show it. A ✗ means it is not included. “Ask us” means it is not documented yet, so we do not claim it.
Status 28 September 2026. Sources: the manuals, the sample reports and the release notes.
Open “Where each mark comes from” under the table for the source of every ✓ and ✗.

XSpreadsheets
XSpreadsheets builds XFrame2D and XFEM4U models from Excel. Those models are calculated and checked in XFrame2D or XFEM4U, so the columns of those programs apply.
National annexes
You choose the country in the program. The annex applies to the Eurocode parts that program covers.

- The XConstruct manual lists the Dutch annex only.
- The latest Dutch annex to EN 1992-1-1, NEN-EN 1992-1-1+
C2:2011+ A1:2015/ NB+ A1:2020+ A2:2025, is in XFEM4U and XBeam2D from version 2027-01-01 and in XConstruct from version 2026-07-01. - The English XFrame2D sample report uses the German annex; the Dutch one uses the Dutch annex.
- Spanish and Portuguese annexes are not included.
Program languages
The programs run in English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian and Portuguese.
Dutch rules for existing buildings, earthquakes and piles
- NEN 8700
- For assessing an existing structure, the lower partial load factors of NEN 8700 Table A.1.2, in all four programs. The profile library includes the old steel profiles DIN, DIE, DIL and DIR.
- NPR 9998
- For induced earthquakes, XFEM4U uses the response spectrum of NPR 9998: it derives the natural frequencies with the Rayleigh method and generates the seismic load cases in x and y, and the combinations with them.
- NEN 9997-1
- Pile bearing capacity in XConstruct follows NEN 9997-1:2025+
C1:2025 from version 2027-03-01, from imported CPTs.
Not included
So you know before you download:
- National annexes other than those of the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, such as the Spanish and Portuguese annexes.
- US codes other than ANSI/AISC 360-16 and ANSI/ACI 318-19.
- Seismic codes other than NPR 9998, such as EN 1998.

The reports list the standards they apply, with edition and annex, before the first check.
