A new release (version 3.05) of our 3D frame program XFrame3d is available.
XFrame3d has been greatly improved on a number of points. The most important changes:
- Members are automatically divided into sub-members when nodes are found on the member. Nodes, supports that lie on the member and/or connecting members can now be added, removed or moved without this affecting the member and the member load. In a beam grid, for example, intermediate supports can thus easily be placed, moved or removed.
- The graphical display of sections and the display of N-, D- and M-lines and deformations have been optimised, which has greatly improved the speed and means that much less internal memory is needed.
- Specifically for the calculation of concrete beam grids, it is possible to reduce the torsional stiffness per beam by a percentage. In the case of compatibility torsion it is permitted to lower the torsional stiffness. As a result the torsional moment that occurs will be lower, and torsion reinforcement (stirrups + longitudinal reinforcement) will also be needed less often.
See the release notes for an overview of all new functionality and all changes.
