Convert a steel structure you modelled in Tekla into an XFEM4U model. The export tool by Tekniq Solution writes the model as XML, and XFEM4U reads the XML.

Model the steel structure in Tekla Structures, as you do now.

Export to XML
Write the model to an XML file with the export tool by Tekniq Solution.

Open in XFEM4U
XFEM4U converts the XML into an XFEM4U model.

Complete and calculate
Check the supports and loads and add what is missing: the load generator does wind and snow to EN 1991. Then run the analysis and the steel checks to EN 1993.

Report
The report writes out each check with its clause, formula and values, as PDF, RTF or Word.

Back to Tekla
Export the XFEM4U model to XML and read it into Tekla with the import tool by Tekniq Solution.

Navigate the Tekla way
Set XFEM4U to navigate like Tekla Structures: scroll the mouse wheel to zoom, press it and drag to pan, and hold Ctrl as well to orbit. Settings & Manual › Settings › Navigate.

XFEM4U also reads steel models in SDNF, the Steel Detailing Neutral File.
IFC export
Since XFEM4U 2027.4, the model also exports to IFC, the open BIM format.
Connections in IDEA StatiCa
Send the geometry and every ULS force from XFEM4U to IDEA StatiCa, and design the connections there. Premium licence, or included with pay-per-use.
Premium adds IDEA StatiCa export, Tekla import, DXF export and Python.

01Which program reads the Tekla model?
XFEM4U, the 3D program. The exchange with Tekla is part of XFEM4U.
02Do I need a Premium licence to try the import?
No. Pay-per-use includes every feature, the Premium ones too, so you can use the Tekla import on the €100 welcome credit you get when you register.
03Can the model go back to Tekla?
Yes. Since XFEM4U 2027.3 (12 May 2026), XFEM4U writes the model as XML, and the import tool by Tekniq Solution reads it into Tekla.
04Which version of XFEM4U do I need?
2026.1 or later for the import, 2027.3 or later for the export. The current version is 2027.4.2.
