In our year-end newsletter, we provide a brief review of the past year and, above all and with great ambition, look forward to the year ahead.
But first of all we would like to thank you for your input and use of our programs in the past year. We hope that you will use our software more often, but also that you will give us more input on how the software can become even better.
A great year 2023
Struct4U grew rapidly. The number of users increased rapidly. Of course because Struct4U is becoming more and more well-known in our branch. But also our programs were again greatly improved and the functionality was further expanded, making Struct4U more attractive. And we understand that all too well. Of course. Our branch can be called conservative. But we see changes. And we have noticed it too. 269 new registrations added in the past year.
Last year we again developed and initiated many new activities. A short summary:
- Struct4U Users event on April 14 in Houten.
- Struct4U has become a sponsor of VNconstructeurs and we were also at the Day of the Engineer on June 1 in Kamerik.
- Water accumulation in XFEM4U.
- Importing and exporting XML in XFEM4U.
- Parametric design in XFEM4U.
- Section box in XFEM4U.
- New XConstruct modules Spout, Wall disc, Masonry bearing, Bearing masonry wall.
- Beams on an elastic soil in XFEM4U.
- Import and export XML in XFrame2D and XBeam2D.
- Graphical dragging of beam loads in XFrame2D and XBeam2D.
- Gridlines in XFrame2D and XBeam2D.
- Effortlessly generate complex models with Python or VBA.
- Parametric design in XFEM4U, XFrame2D and XBeam2D using Microsoft Excel.
- User interface has a new look-and-feel with sharp rendering
What are the Struct4U's plans for 2024?
We are really bursting with new ideas and it is not always easy to set the right priorities. Of course we have our own ideas, but the main thing is that we always listen very carefully to the users of our software. After all, they are always right and ultimately determine what the new developments will be. This is on the planning anyway. A small preview:
- It becomes possible to enter user defined materials (steel, concrete, rebar and timber), in all programs.
- Navigation Cube in XFEM4U.
- XFEM4U will be a 64bits application so that even very large models of more than 5000 plate elements can be calculated effortlessly.
- XFEM4U gets a new and super fast solver so that even very large models can be calculated even faster.
- XFEM4U gets a new 8-node hybrid plate element.
- IFC import and export.
- XFEM4U will have an API so that control from e.g. c# will also be possible.
- Physically non-linear (creep) deflection calculation of concrete slabs in XFEM4U.
- Interactively adding / changing reinforcement in a concrete slab in XFEM4U.
- Integration of the concrete punching module in XFEM4U including smoothing peak values.
- Testing CLT in XFEM4U.
- 2-Pile spur reinforcement in XConstruct.
- Possibility to import SCIA models.
- Export possibility to IDEA STATICA.
- Struct4U User event in April.
- Day of the Engineer in June.
- Launch Struct4U Spreadsheets.
